About me...
Hello! I'm Pradeepa and I'm a British Indian artist living in Southampton, UK.
I love to capture the essence of beauty in the world around us using colours, textures and brush strokes to capture special moments that are a feast for the eyes and the soul.
Born and raised in India, I moved to the UK in 2003. If you had told me then, that I would be a professional watercolour artist, I would have laughed, because I was getting ready to work as a doctor in the UK. But having children changed everything.
After a 10-year break from my medical career, I was thinking about next steps. One afternoon, I took an ordinary paintbrush in my hand. As I saw the paint flow out of it, something inside of me came alive and I realised that this was my calling.
My painting, mostly self-taught, has grown and blossomed. They’re birthed and inspired by my Christian faith, Indian heritage and love for Britain’s flowers and beautiful landscapes. Recently, I've been doing portraits, abstracts and some local wildlife too!
I've enjoyed exhibiting locally with art groups and in Winchester Hospital.
My vision is to become the best at watercolour and then, to go beyond that!!
