Anemone Autumn - original watercolour painting

An anemone. I’ve never painted this gorgeous flower before, so I thought I’d challenge myself by doing this. Not only that, it had to be a close-up. Oh, and let’s add on top of it the white variety, I said. Whites are not easy to get right, especially in watercolour!

 

ANEMONE AUTUMN is today’s painting. I really love how this has turned out! The background needed a lot of tweaking, but it eventually settled into place. That luminous bud at the top is the cherry on top of the pudding, don’t you think?
